Meet Bo
Bo is co-founder of Plainsight. She combines a deep focus on data & AI with a clear vision on company culture: open, direct, and without fuzz. She believes things move fastest when people say what they mean, so that’s exactly how she works. Next to helping customers with their data challenges, Bo occasionally wears the hat of a public speaker to share her insights and knowledge with enthusiastic audiences.
We asked Bo some thoughtful questions:
Bo, how did you discover your passion for data?
During my final year as a business engineer, I had to choose a specialization. While various options were available, including accountancy and more business-oriented tracks, one particular path stood out from the rest: "informatics for the business engineer." As the sole student of my year to take this challenge, I found myself as almost the only girl next to a bunch of rather “hard core” computer scientists. And surprise surprise: I ended up loving it.
If you weren’t working in data & AI, what would you be doing?
I’d probably be an emergency doctor. Back in high school, friends told me that because I can stay ice cold under pressure, I should go for a job as a surgeon or an emergency docor. A bit like Christina Yang in Grey’s Anatomy 🤓
What is the best workday-break that helps you regain focus?
By far it is dancing on a few songs with Just Dance on the Nitendo Switch. It’s not only a ton of fun, but it also acts as a refreshing mental reset.
One tip: do not underestimate the physical exercise – if you do it right 😉
