Meet Bo

Bo is co-founder of Plainsight and has been CEO since 2026. She's not a 100% person, she's a 150% person. Hand her a heavy, complex problem or a thorny strategy question and she's all the way in. Slow and halfway were never really on the menu. What pulls her is the people: helping a customer find the right answer, or watching someone on the team grow into more than they expected. She's rational about almost everything, with one stubborn exception. She backs the helpful call over the commercial one, and she's relaxed about being called naive for it.

We asked Bo some thoughtful questions

Bo, how did you discover your passion for data?

In my final year as a business engineer, I had to pick a specialization. Accountancy and the more business-oriented tracks were the safe choices. I went for the one that stood out, informatics for the business engineer. I was the only student in my year to choose it, and almost the only girl among a group of fairly hardcore computer scientists. Surprise surprise, I loved it.

What kind of CEO do you want to be?

The kind who's still in the work. I love lifting the heavy, complex problems and thinking through strategy alongside a customer, and I'm not going to stop doing that because the title changed. What I care about most is people growing. Watching someone on the team take on something they didn't think they could handle is the best part of my week. I also lead from passion rather than from a sales target, which sounds a little naive. I'll take it. I'd rather help a customer make the right decision and trust that the rest follows.

What does life look like outside Plainsight?

I'm trying to do more sport, with mixed results. The catch is that I need a challenge to care. Put a competition or a finish line in front of me and I'm in. A marathon? I'd love to run one. The months of training to get there are where I lose the plot. The one exception, and my guilty pleasure, is Just Dance on the Switch. No training plan required. Outside of that, give me a good restaurant, a building worth looking up at, and a stack of non-fiction. I read to keep learning, which is probably the same reason I ended up in this field in the first place.
