Meet the team: Arno🚀
Meet Arno
With a background in Business Administration, Arno brings a solid foundation in commercial thinking and strategic insight to the team. Outside of work, he is a passionate music enthusiast and vinyl collector. He is also a dedicated sports fan who doesn't just watch from the sidelines: he actively plays basketball and coaches a youth team, which has taught him a great deal about teamwork, motivation, and bringing out the best in people. Skills he is happy to bring to the workplace every day.
We asked Arno some thoughtful questions:
Arno, how did you discover your passion for data?
I don't come from a data background, to be honest. But I've always been the type to wonder how things actually work behind what you see on the surface. What makes a campaign perform? Why does one ad land and another doesn't? That curiosity kept pulling me toward data. And look, the world is moving fast. The way we work with technology and data today looks nothing like it did a few years ago, and it's only going to accelerate. I'd rather figure it out now than play catch-up later.
Why did you specifically choose Plainsight?
Honestly, toward the end of my studies I wasn't sure if marketing was really it for me. I was seriously considering going back to school for an IT program because that world fascinated me just as much. Then I ran into Plainsight at a job fair, almost by accident. They had a marketing internship open, but the company itself lives and breathes data and IT. That felt like the perfect test, I could stay in marketing while being surrounded by the tech side of things every day. It let me figure out which direction I actually wanted to go without having to pick one and hope for the best.
What was your first month at Plainsight like?
Really great. My first week I got to join a three-day workation, which was a bit of a fast track into getting to know the whole team. That set the tone for the rest of the month. I was learning something new almost every day and people kept pushing me to try things out and come up with my own ideas. What stood out most is the trust. I got real responsibility from the start, not busy work. That kind of freedom makes you want to step up and keep growing.
What’s your favorite hobby or activity outside of work?
Basketball, without a doubt. I've been playing for 15 years now and I genuinely can't imagine my life without it. Every season I try to push myself a little harder and come back a little better than the year before. One of my all-time favourite moments was getting to watch my idols play live at the Paris Olympics. Including LeBron James, who is hands down my favourite player. Seeing him on the court in real life after watching him play on a screen for years was an experience I will never forget.
