Meet Robrecht
Robrecht studied Information Management and has been working in data engineering since. He started in technical frameworks and support, then moved into building and maintaining data pipelines. He's the kind of person who's always been curious about how companies store and use their data, which is exactly why he ended up doing this for a living.
We asked Robrecht some thoughtful questions
Robrecht, how did you discover your passion for data?
My passion for data started with the basic curiosity I had on how data was saved and used by different business in order to do marketing campaigns and get insights. This was the main reason why I also chose Information management as my studies. Like many others I was tricked by the fake “beer and diapers” story.
Why did you specifically choose Plainsight?
Plainsight seemed is a young, driven company, with the added bonus that they also have a focus on the Microsoft stack. They give you the opportunity to further develop yourself as a person and analytics consultant.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Could you image the time you could save by just teleporting to your destination. Have to go to work? Just skip the commute and be there in an instant. It also means I could live more remotely and still have the benefit of having stores nearby, because it just takes 1 second to teleport to one. Of course there will be some downsides, like people calling you and expecting you to be there in an instant. If everybody had this power, you would never feel safe because at any moment somebody could teleport in your bedroom!
