Meet Andrés
Andrés has spent well over a decade building bridges between people, strategy, and growth. After years in sales and leadership roles, he moved into the world of data and AI, where business impact and human connection come together. He believes great companies are built by inspired people, and gets as much satisfaction from seeing others grow as from helping businesses scale. Data and technology may be at the centre of the conversation, but for him it has always been about the people behind it.
We asked Andrés some thoughtful questions
Andrés, how did you discover your passion for data?
About nine years ago, I landed my first commercial role in an IT environment. The deeper I got into the technology landscape, the more I realised how quickly data was becoming a key driver for organisations, and how many companies were still struggling to unlock its full potential. What truly sparked my passion was seeing the real impact data can have on a business. Helping customers work more efficiently, solving everyday frustrations, and making smarter, data-driven decisions is what motivates me. There’s something rewarding about knowing you’ve helped a company, and the people behind it, move forward. For me it’s not just about technology, but about creating tangible value for people and organisations alike. And with the rise of AI over the past few years, I believe the possibilities ahead are only becoming more exciting.
Why did you specifically choose Plainsight?
Choosing Plainsight felt like a natural decision. From the very first conversations, I connected with the people behind the company. The combination of ambition, openness, positivity, and real passion created a feeling that simply clicked. What also stood out to me were the strong values and the journey Plainsight has already been through as a company. Being surrounded by like-minded people who believe in collaboration, growth, and making an impact made the choice an easy one. Joining Plainsight wasn’t only about being part of an exciting story, but about helping shape the next chapters together with the team.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
I like to think of myself as a fairly adventurous person, so choosing just one story isn’t easy. But if there’s one experience that stands out, it has to be cage diving with great white sharks in Gansbaai, South Africa, a few years ago. What started as an exciting adventure quickly turned into a breathtaking one. Seeing several great whites up close was already unforgettable, but the highlight was encountering a massive shark of nearly five metres long. At one point it swam straight toward the small opening in the cage, coming face to face in a way I’ll never forget. It was one of those rare moments that leaves you completely in awe of nature, a powerful reminder of how majestic and beautiful these animals truly are.
