Meet Andreas
Andreas is a driven professional with a strong problem-solving mindset who takes on challenges with curiosity and determination. With nearly ten years of experience in engineering data solutions, he has developed the ability to turn complex data into meaningful, actionable insights for business users. He combines technical expertise with a clear understanding of business needs, ensuring his work creates added value.
What motivates Andreas most is the opportunity to make a real difference. He enjoys being in roles where his work has a direct impact on business outcomes, whether that involves improving data quality, streamlining processes, or enabling better decision-making. This sense of purpose drives him to continuously improve his skills and stay up to date with developments in the field of data & AI.
We asked andreas some thoughtful questions:
andreas, how did you discover your passion for data?
From a young age, numbers and math made more sense to me than languages or other subjects at school. During vacation trips I would sit in the back of the car studying sports magazines. By the time we would arrive at the South of France I would know all the statistics of football, cycling, etc.
But more importantly also try to make conclusions derived from these figures and how the clubs could use these to make informed decisions.
Later I started to realize that one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century is the (big) data and AI sector, and I want to be a part as to how it will shape this era.
Why did you specifically choose Plainsight?
I chose Plainsight because of the opportunity to work on diverse projects and continuously expand my knowledge. Although it is a young and developing company, I appreciate the clear methodology behind it, especially it’s focus on quality and open, direct communication. This combination creates an environment where I can grow while contributing to impactful and quality work.
What was your first month at Plainsight like?
The onboarding was straightforward and the team was welcoming. On my second day, I started working on a project we had taken over from another company. Although I was the only Plainsight consultant at the client, the close follow-up and openness to ask both functional and technical questions gave me strong support. Knowing that I could rely on the in-house expertise at Plainsight gave me confidence that the project would be successfully completed.
What’s your favorite hobby or activity outside of work?
I am a sport enthusiast in general, however there are 2 disciplines that I like to spent my spare time on. The first is Jiu-Jitsu which teached me discipline, assertiveness and self-control of mind and body. I have been practicing it for over 20 years and teaching the new generation since 2021.
Cycling, on the other hand, gives me the sense of freedom I sometimes need, while also strengthening my perseverance and resilience.
