Meet the team: Evy🚀

Meet evy

Evy is a creative and supportive individual with a strong passion for language, communication, and building meaningful connections. Her fascination with languages began in secondary school and led her to study Applied Linguistics (English and Spanish) at Ghent University. Driven by a deep interest in dialogue and intercultural exchange, she continued with a Master’s in Multilingual Communication, further strengthening her ability to bridge people and perspectives with clarity and empathy.

Building on this solid academic foundation and hands-on communication experience, Evy has recently embarked on a new chapter in recruitment, bringing together her linguistic expertise, people skills, and natural talent for understanding what motivates others to create strong matches and lasting relationships.

We asked Evy some thoughtful questions:

evy, how did you discover your passion for data?

Honestly? My main role at Plainsight is recruitment, not data. But being surrounded by people who get genuinely excited about dashboards and new insights is kind of contagious. It makes me curious to learn more, not because I suddenly dream in spreadsheets, but because data here isn’t just numbers. It’s a way to understand people and make better decisions.

And in a way, it feels familiar: just like HR and recruitment, there’s a real drive to help others and create impact where it matters. Whether you’re matching someone with a job or helping a team see what’s really going on behind the scenes… it’s all about clarity, connection, and making things work better.

Why did you specifically choose Plainsight?

When I first learned about Plainsight, a few things immediately stood out to me: the room for innovation, the trust in initiative, and the feeling that you’re truly building something together. The idea of joining a growing company with fresh, forward-thinking approaches really intrigued me. I love environments where people are encouraged to test ideas, learn fast, and shape the future as a team — and that’s exactly the vibe I got from Plainsight.

What was your first month at Plainsight like?

The first word that comes to mind is: educational. In just a few weeks, I’ve learned so much, not only about recruitment, but also about working closely within a team, understanding more about AI and IT, and building strong connections with both clients and freelancers.

On top of that, I’ve also gained something more personal: I’ve learned to trust myself more, my ideas, my strengths, and my role within the company. That mix of learning and growing has been incredibly motivating. It’s what keeps me curious, pushes me to take initiative, and makes me feel genuinely involved in what we’re building at Plainsight.

What’s your favorite hobby or activity outside of work?

In my free time, I like to keep my creative mind active by… well, creating. One of my favorite hobbies is crochet. I make everything from plushies to clothes, blankets, and even bucket hats. They’re great gifts for friends and family, but honestly, I mostly crochet because it keeps me busy in a productive, calming way. There’s something really satisfying about starting with a ball of yarn and ending with something tangible.

Crocheting also comes with a lot of trial and error, but that’s part of the fun and the final result always makes it worth it.

If I’m not crocheting, you’ll probably find me baking, reading, or going for a walk when I’m in the mood for something more physical.

cURIOUS to know what Plainsight could mean for you?
