You're the person who walks into a client conversation, listens for twenty minutes, and can already sketch the shape of the platform they need. Not the pipeline. The direction. Where the data should live, who should own it, what the first three moves are, and roughly what it costs.
This is a senior role. You lead our data and analytics practice: shaping solutions, supporting sales, guiding delivery teams, and staying the person clients call when they want a straight answer about their data.
What you'll work on
You sit between the client and the delivery team, and you make both sides better.
- Solution shaping. You design the high-level architecture for data platforms, warehouses, lakes, and analytics. You make the calls that set the direction, then hand a delivery team something they can actually build.
- Sales and proposals. You join client meetings, turn a vague ambition into a realistic scope, estimate the work, and build the proposal and the slides that win it.
- Accounts. You grow the relationships. You spot the next opportunity inside an account before the client asks, and you stay the trusted advisor they come back to.
- Teams. You lead, coach, and guide the people delivering the work. You're their senior technical reference, the one they escalate to when a decision is hard.
You won't be writing pipelines day to day. But you'll challenge the ones that are, because you've built enough of them to know where they break.
What you bring
Six years or more in data and analytics, engineering, or BI, with real time spent on modern data architectures: warehouses, lakes, cloud platforms. You've seen a platform succeed and you've seen one fail, and you can tell the difference early.
Strong on the Microsoft stack (Azure, Fabric, Power BI) and comfortable with Databricks. On-premise warehouse experience is a plus, because plenty of clients still start there.
The rarer combination: you're technical enough to earn an engineer's respect and commercial enough to sit across from a CFO. Both conversations happen in the same week, sometimes the same meeting.
How we work
We code as agentically as we can, across the whole company, non-delivery roles included. If you already use Claude or similar tools for research, drafting proposals, and pressure-testing architectures, that's a plus. If not, you'll pick it up here.
We pair with our clients' teams and leave them owning the platform, not depending on us to babysit it. The handover is the hard part of consulting, and we work at it.
What you'll get
A senior role with real influence on how Plainsight builds its data and analytics practice. Direct collaboration with the founders. A growth plan built around where you want to go next. Competitive pay.
