Meet Lou

Numbers have always been Lou's thing. Lucky for us, he turned that obsession into a career! As one of Plainsight's co-founders, Lou combines a sharp focus on data projects with a genuine passion for people and growth. With a background in both IT and economics, he naturally grew into the space where technology and business collide. A proud core member of Dataminds, one of Belgium's most prominent user groups focused on Microsoft data and AI, Lou is equally at home coaching Plainsight's next generation of data talents as he is solving the next analytics challenge. Next to that, he loves to speak in public, sharing his love for all things data. And when he finally steps away from the screen? You'll find him plotting his next chess move or smashing it on the padel court.

We asked Lou some thoughtful questions:

Lou, how did you discover your passion for data?

Being a teenager, I still remember a particular case study where I got to benchmark companies' financial and operational performance in the water management and beverage sector. It was the first time I got my hands on real statistical analysis, gathering the data, crunching the numbers, and then presenting a story backed by hard facts to a full audience. I was completely hooked. From that moment on, I was obsessed with the thrill of structuring chaos: taking millions of records and distilling them into one crystal-clear insight that cuts right through gut feelings and guesswork. Facts don't lie, just let the numbers do the talking.

Why did you specifically choose Plainsight?

Honestly, easy question! What drew me in was a young team driven by passion, transparency and genuine warmth. A group of people with a real urge to keep moving forward together. Everyone within the team has initiative, assertiveness and that contagious energy that makes you want to bring your best every single day. And the flexibility is real! Got an idea? Go for it. Before you know it, there's a whole bunch of people rallying behind you. That kind of environment doesn't just make work fun, it makes you grow faster than you ever thought possible.

What’s your best career advice?

Stop and think about what you truly love doing: You're going to be working for a long time. Life is too short to drag yourself to a desk every morning. The moment work starts feeling like a burden, that's your signal to make a change. Do what genuinely excites you, and everything else follows naturally: you'll grow faster, perform better, and find more satisfaction in what you do both at work and next to it!

cURIOUS to know what Plainsight could mean for you?
