# Plainsight > Plainsight is a Belgian data and AI consultancy of around 40 people. We build on one data foundation in three ways: analytics your people trust, AI that gives you an edge, and custom software that runs your business, plus the integration that ties them together. It holds four things: knowledge bases over your own documents (answers cite the paragraph they came from, permissions are enforced per document, so nobody sees a file they could not already open), the lessons your people learn while they work, guardrails that broker access to systems and secrets and hold the rules for AI-assisted work, and the brand kit as the single master for branded output. Tools connect over MCP, an open protocol, so Claude, ChatGPT, coding assistants and Plainsight's own AI Assistant all read the same memory instead of each keeping a private one. It installs in your own environment, under your own permissions. Plainsight built it for its own team first and runs it every day on 40+ people and nine knowledge bases, which is why a demo is a working system rather than slides.
